Last December, St. Bernadette College of Valenzuela hosted a charitable program in
Sta. Juliana, Capas, Tarlac to help the Aeta families and their children. For the program
to happen they sought out donations from the institution’s students. The personnel
handling the program catered to donated canned foods, rice, and most importantly,
learning kits and supplies.
Many articles, documentaries, and studies containing statistical data and records of
quality of education that differ the rural and urban areas of the Philippines have been
published. Furthermore, literacy rate and education attainment have progressed slowly
in the rural areas of the Philippines. No matter how slow or how poorly we’re advancing
in terms of education, progress is progress.
Considering that the middle and lower class of urban areas have a hard time attaining
quality education, we can say that the people of rural areas have it worse. Cases of
scarcity of schools, downgraded facilities, and poverty are the dilemmas they have to
face.
