1. Who is author?
E Adam Smith
2. What is the name of the theses/dissertation?
Civic Engagement in American Schools
3. What is the year of the theses/dissertation?
2018
4. What institution did the author go to? (Usually on title page.)
University of Southern California
5. What was the purpose of the study? (You can retype it. It’s okay if it is word for word.)
The study looks to address two research questions. What are the students’ knowledge,
motivation, and organizational needs necessary for ASCA to achieve a minimum rate of one
hundred and fifty civic engagement hours for all the graduates? How civically engaged are
ASCA students? What are the spaces and times that they are civically engaged?
6. What was the conclusion of the study? (Usually on last page. You can type it word for
word.)
ASCA, and other American schools indicate that they want to develop graduates to be
change agents in the future, to become the transformative citizens that make the world a better
place. This study shows that if an American school commits itself to promoting these ideals,
students are more than eager to engage in this type of behavior.
7. Why would this particular study be important in your field? (We are assuming it is
important.)
The engagement of students is important to my field because my end goal is to become
a teacher.
8. Pretend that you want to do a similar study to this one. What would you do different?
Why? (This must be a complete paragraph. Five – eight sentences. Extraneous material will
not be counted. Nor, will I could sentences such as “I would do a lot different.” Your response
must be very specific.
This study was very well done. The author did thorough work that end in a solid
conclusion. There is not much in his work that I would’ve change but if I were to do this
particular study, I would’ve not only done the study on American School.s I would be inclusive
to many countries so that there could be a lot of comparison through the theses.

currently taking a class with?
Lucas Delezene
2. What year did he/she write their dissertation?

3. What is the name of the dissertation?
Morphological Integration and the Anthropoid Dentition
4. What institution did the professor go to when he/she published their dissertation?
Arizona State University
5. Skip to the end of the dissertation. What was the conclusion of the study? (You can type
this word for word.)
The findings of this dissertation support the hypothesis that the functional modules of
the dentition are also variational modules and that patterns of variance covariance are
conserved among species;; though subtle differences exist between taxa when variational
modules are examined in isolation
