CUMMINS Fault Codes

This document provides instructions for diagnosing faults on Cummins QSB and QSM engines. It explains that the alarm or warning lamp will illuminate if a fault occurs while the engine is running. To view fault codes, stop the engine and turn the ignition on, then turn the fault code trigger switch to the ON position to flash the first fault code. Alarm lamp Warning lamp ON/OFF switch Fault code trigger

• While engine is running the ON/OFF switch should be in OFF position! If the
warning/alarm occurs the lamp will be lit!

• Stop the engine and have the ignition on

• Switch the ON/OFF switch to ON position and the first fault code will be flashed
out

• If there are more fault codes the trigger switch is used to flash them out, there are
two positions on the switch, forwards/backwards
