Category: Solo Singing & Duet/Group Singing

Duration of song: Maximum 2 minutes (audition/preliminaries); maximum 4 minutes (grand finals)

Specific rules:

1. Participants can sing any song in English or Bahasa Malaysia, based on the theme set by
the Competition Committee.
2. Back-up dancers and/or singers are not allowed. Pianists or guitarists are not allowed to
perform together with the participants from preliminaries onwards.
3. Timing begins:
(a) When music begins or when music is used or;
(b) At first vocal utterance of performer without musical accompaniment.
4. Participants who do not begin performing within 45 seconds after the competition begins will
be disqualified.
5. Costumes worn must be appropriate to the song, and must not be too revealing in any
manner.
6. Participants are not allowed to repeat their performance in the event of a mistake made
unless required by the jury.
7. The Competition Committee reserves the right to modify the Competition Rules at any time
at its sole discretion.
