Spider Web

Description:
Spider webs are a great tool for team building activities. Spider webs are easy to create
and can be implemented both indoor and outdoor. The great thing about this activity is
that it does not require a lot of materials and preparation but it offers great results.

Purposes of activity:
 Teambuilding
 Leadership
 Strategic thinking
 Time management
 All these while having fun

What do you need:

 Rope
 Scotch tape
 2 trees or walls

Instructions:
The aim of this activity is to get group members from one side of the web to the other; to
do so, members of the group must pass themselves through the holes in the web
without touching the web. If one touches the web, the game starts from the beginning
no matter how many passed to the other side already.
When designing the spider web, create a couple more holes above the number of
participants. Mix small holes with big holes. Some of the large holes must be placed
near the ground. One hole cannot be used more than one time. After a participant
passes through a hole, this automatically closes. Use the scotch tape to “close” the
holes.
Give the participants the necessary time to establish a strategy once you explained all
these instructions.

Additional Comments:
 Make sure you encourage the participation of overweight people as they tend to
back down. This game is about teamwork so no boundaries exist when it comes
to this. Teamwork make the dream work!
 Don’t rush participants into finding strategies.
 Once the activity is done, take the time for debriefing and feedback.
