Factors that affect the student’s perception in instruction communication are:
a. Observation
Interpreting what is seen and heard by a student, depends on the personal
characteristic she/he has.
b. Motive
Reason behind the action taken by a student which is able to stimulate and provide a
strong enough influence on the formation of one’s perception of everything that exist.
c. Attitude
The attitude that someone has will affect a perception that she/he has formed about
things that are exist.
d. Experience, knowledge or any events as an experience that had been experienced by a
student
e. Interest
A student focus attention on the things she/he is facing, make someone’s perception
become different from each other
f. Expectation Is a picture or description that can form an image of learning condition
2. The use of technology and media in instructional communication are very important. In fact,
media is one of the fourth component in teaching and learning activity. Media and technology
are used to support instructional communication. Example, in teacher center learning, teacher
using an electronic whiteboard to show various of visual Indonesia’s population growth. While
in student center learning, the main users of media and technology are the students. Students
will use the computer and internet network technology that display message in form of data on
Indonesia’s population growth.
3. There are 2 functions of instructional media, namely:
a. Instructional Media as tool in learning.
Every learning material has its own various difficulties. There is some material that
need media, and some are not. When the materials are difficult the use of
Instructional Media are needed. Without the help of Instructional Media, the lesson
can be hard to understand by the students. As a tool in learning, Instructional Media
has a function to facilitate the achievement of learning goals. Students experiences
learning with Instructional Media will produce a learning process and its result
better, compare with without using Instructional Media.
b. Instructional Media as a Learning resource
Everything that can be used as a learning material for students learning called
learning resource. Learning resource can be categorized into six categories, namely:
message, human, machine, tool, strategy, and environment. Instructional Media is
one of learning resource that can help teachers to facilitate the achievement of the
students understanding of lesson material and can enrich students’ knowledge
4. The types of Instructional Media I usually use are:
o Slide presentation using LCD
o Picture
o Text book
o Audio (speaker)
All those Instructional Media above make my students easier to absorb and
understanding the learning material. As a teacher, Instructional Media also helps me a
lot in teaching. Unfortunately, my students can’t access internet) because we don’t have
Wi-Fi at the school, and they don’t have smartphone.
5. Multimedia is a computer-based communication system where we can create, save, and present
audio, picture, video, graphics, animation. The needs of multimedia nowadays become an
important thing. It is an integral part of the teaching profession. Multimedia helps teacher to
create more and interesting teaching material.
