are fastest mediums to learn and gain expertise in the
field of interest.
*In the world of digital media channels and mass
communication aspirants are surrounded with number of
options, for an instance they can undergo professional
programs offered at one of the best educational
institutes, schools or colleges across countries in the
world.
*New media is “very easily processed, stored,
transformed, retrieved, hyper-linked and, perhaps most
radical of all, easily searched for and accessed. It can also
be classified as highly interactive technology.
*With the world moving forward in all ways possible, the
importance of New Media education is crucial at this
point. New Media art is usually described as projects that
make use of emerging media technologies and are
keeping an eye for the cultural, political and more.
What are the 5 classifications of educational
media?
*The basic community learning media tools and
resources depend on the types of learning media in
general.
*They are divided into 6 (six) types, namely:
(1) Text, (2)Audio, (3) Visual, (4)Motion, (5)Real objects
and models, and (6) people.
*The most commonly used learning media is text-shaped
media.
Definition of Educational Media:
*Educational media refers to channels of communication
that carry messages with an instructional purpose.
*They are usually utilized for the main purpose of
learning and teaching (Webcrawler, 2013).
*Media literacy helps students learn to find, consume,
and create media critically. It should also help them
understand how media is made, who males it, and for
what purposes.
Nowadays, digital or new media has been captivating the
attention of mass aspirants across the globe. Therefore,

help to engage students in learning and provide a richer

are PowerPoint, slide, video tape, diagrams, printed
materials and computer software.
These media tools are regarded as educational media
teaching aids as they carry messages with instructional
purpose.
The purpose of educational media is to facilitate
communication and to enhance teaching-learning
effectiveness.
The main components of educational media:

with six main key building blocks of media that are):
*face-to-face teaching.
*text.

*audio (including speech).
*video.
*computing (including animation, simulations and virtual
reality).
Examples of educational media resources:
Instead of always relying on lectures, you can use print,
audio, and visual media, such as books, videos,
television, CDs, DVDs or short films, to hold students’
attention and help them retain information.
These three types of media, e.g. visual media, audio
media, and audio visual media, can be used in teaching
and learning as the instructional aid to bring all students
into comprehending the subject clearly. Visual media is a
type of media that expresses messages through verbal
communication symbol.
The basic classification of educational media:
Recently contemporary research has classified
educational media, including the various uses of
computers and digital media devices in education, into
four categories:
1) Discursive (rational or logical).
2) Adaptive (systematic).
3) Interactive (based on interaction).
4) Reflective (based on deep thinking & analysis).
