Encoding and Re-coding of Data along with

Descriptive Statistics using SPSS

Part 1.

1.

The first thing we do is creating the tables and after that we come up with the
encoding of the variables for us to view it and the data view.
After creating and encoding in the variables we go to data view we encode the data
of Name,Gender,SE11S,Section and the subjects which are Math,English,Science and
the last is HS. Average.

After encoding the data we need to analyze then descriptive statistics then after that
we click descriptive.
Then we select the MATH ENGLISH SCIENCE and the HS.Average.
After selecting the subjects go to options and unchecked the other only the mean
will be checked and press continue.

As the table it show the total average data by getting the mean of the Descriptive
Statistics.

2.
We have the total average mean of the subject by using descriptive statistics and
now we are going to do is to determine the subject MATH ENGLISH SCINCE AND THE
HS. Average if is LOW or HIGH.
Shift Click the MATH ENGLISH SCIENCE AND HS.Average then okay then go to the
old and new values and put all their total mean average 1 by 1. After that we are
going to input range of the all subjects lowest and highest through value.

As shown above this now our data of all subjects which already determined which is
Low or High.
