(1) Air Gap. (2) Locknut.

1. Remove the speed sensor. Align a gear tooth directly in the center of the threaded sensor
opening.

2. By hand, screw the sensor into the hole until the end of the sensor just makes contact with the
gear tooth.

3. Turn the sensor in the opposite direction for 1/2 of a turn (180° in the counterclockwise
direction). This sets air gap (1) to 0.71 mm (0.028 inch).

4. Tighten locknut (2) to 25 ± 5 N·m (18 ± 4 lb ft).

Note: Do not allow the sensor to turn as locknut (2) is tightened.
