Do you want to save some pennies?

While it’s a chore for many, it’s not that hard to do if

you try some simple tactics. And those pennies can add up.

For example, you can …

1. Schedule automatic payments. Avoid missing a bill and having to fork over late
fees.

2. Eat your groceries. Americans toss away 15% of their food each year.

3. Bundle services. Your communication provider might cut you a deal for
combining your Internet, phone and cable TV.

4. Pay off your credit cards. Interest charges can run into the hundreds … and
higher.

5. Mark your calendar and return books, movies or whatever else you’re borrowing
before incurring a late fee.

6. File your taxes on time. Or at least file an extension. IRS penalties are steep.

7. Roll it over, as in your 401(k) from an old job. It’ll continue to grow and you won’t
pay taxes or the 10% penalty for early withdrawals.

8. Switch credit cards if you can move your balance to another card with a lower
interest rate.

9. Use your privileges. Are you an AAA member? AARP? A local credit union?
These and other organizations offer discounts.

10. Rent instead of buy, because some items, like movies and books, you won’t use
that much.
