Objectives:At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:

 Give importance to the product of Genetically Modified Organism
 Conduct survey of the current uses of Genetically Modified Organism

b. Performance standard: Conduct survey of products containing substances that can triggers
genetic disorders such as Phenylketonuria.

a. Reviewing previous Lesson or presenting the new Lesson


Describe the process of genetic engineering.

b. Establishing a purpose for the new Lesson

Show some genetically modified organism.

c. Presenting Examples/Instances of the new Lesson


Show picture of corn that is injected with BT corn, this example shows how BT corn kills
European corn Borer(ECB)

d. Discussing the new concepts and practicing new skills #1


 The teacher will discuss what to do with the activityand distribute materials and
questions in conducting a survey, the class will be divided into four groups.

e. Discussing the new concepts and practicing new skills #2


 Discussion on Genetically Modified Organism.
f. Developing Mastery
 Discussion on the output of the collaborative activity the presenter per group on the
survey they conducted
g. Finding Practical applications of concepts and skill daily living

Ask the students the following questions:


1. Think of product in the market that you think is already a genetically modified?
2. How does GMO benefits mankind?
h. Making Generalizations and abstractions about the lesson
The teacher asks: Explain the concept of GMO and present the result of the survey they
conduct
