In this study, the researchers used the descriptive-correlational research

design. Cynthia (2014) says descriptive research describes what is. It involves the

description, recording, analysis, and interpretation of the present nature, composition or

processes of phenomena. The focus is on prevailing conditions, or how a person,

group, or thing behaves or functions in the present, which involves observing

and describing the behavior of a subject without influencing it in any way.

The study will take place at Bernardo D. Carpio National High School. The school

is situated at Pioneer Village, Buhangin, Davao City, Davao del Sur. Specifically, the

study will be employed to the existing plants (flora) in Bernardo D. Carpio National High

School.

The subjects of the study will be the existing plants (flora). There will be five

classification of plants will be chosen in the study, trees, non-flowering plants (conifers),

flowering plants (angiosperms), vines, herbs, ferns and mosses. This classifications of

plants are chosen purposively since these classifications are the existing plant species

in our school. This plants will be use as basis for this research endeavor.
 In this research, the researchers used the Population. According to Explorable

(2008), Population is the process of taking a subset of subjects that is representative of

the entire population. The sample must have sufficient size to warrant statistical

analysis.

The instruments to be used in the study will be the frequency chart. Through this

frequency chart we may able to know the number of plant species, the frequency of

each plant species and the comprehensive plant species.

The following steps will be done in conducting the study, asking permission to

conduct the study, the researchers asked permission by writing a letter to the Schools

Division Superintendent to conduct the study. Then a written permission will be given to

the principal of the chosen school by the researcher, Bernardo D. Caprio National High

School, who made follow up visitation to the school principal. Then we already start the

gathering of data by taking pictures of some plants. We gathered all of the pictures
