This study aims to know the Lived Experiences of Abandoned
Child in Davao. Specifically, this sought to answer the following: 1. Identify the lived experiences of the abandoned children in Davao City Objectives of the Study 2. Identify the struggles experienced by the abandoned child. 3. Describe the coping mechanisms of the struggles of the abandoned children. 1. John Bowlby’s Attachment Theory Theoretical Lens 2. Social Learning Theory by Albert Bandura The study will use a descriptive phenomenological method to get information concerning the experiences of the participants. This design will allow the researchers to explore deeper into the Research Design lived experiences of the participants (Creswell, 1988). This will be used to investigate the participant's experiences from his/her own perspective. The study will be conducted at the Davao City Police Office. The Research Environment police office has a Women and Children's Protection Desk, which protects and investigates victims who are women or children.
The participant of the study is a children aged 10 to 18 years old.
Research Participants Participants will be selected through purposive sampling. A total of one (2) child will be asked to participate. The research instruments that will be utilized are interview guide questions to investigate and understand the lived experiences of an abandoned child in Davao. The researcher will develop and Research Instruments administer open-ended interview questions. Additionally, the researchers will be employing an audio recorder, pen, and paper to record the interview. The data will be collected through messenger interviews using the research instruments such as questionnaires. Audio recording and pen and paper will be utilized throughout the interview to Data Collection collect evidence and information. Next, the researchers will transcribe and interpret the results and start the discussion of the data collected. The researchers will analyze the data using the thematic analysis method. This method is the process of identifying patterns in the Data Analysis collected data. This will be utilized to group the responses of the participants into broader themes. To safeguard the child's safety and well-being, researchers need Ethical Consideration to adhere to ethical considerations such as informed consent, informed assent, anonymity, reverence, and transparency.
