Evaluation Parameters

The Presentations will be evaluated on the basis of:

Content:

 The choice of topic and its development represents the speaker’s approach to the
subject, and how well the subject is established before the audience

 Content includes facts, statistics, examples, and professional perspectives, as deemed

appropriate for the presentation

Organization:

 The introduction attracts the audience’s attention and orients the listeners to the
purpose of the talk

 The body of the presentation offers well developed points presented in an appropriate
& sequential order. The speech ends with a summary of major points and a positive
final impression

Oral & Nonverbal:

 Effective and precise wording used to define, elaborate, and emphasize key elements
of the subject; there are effective transitions in argument

 There is speech clarity, and effective use of non-verbal cues to guide the audience
through the talk

 The speaker is able to connect with the audience through use of spontaneity, eye
contact, appropriate body movements and gestures, and appears confident and at ease
