& sequential order. The speech ends with a summary of major points and a positive
final impression
Effective and precise wording used to define, elaborate, and emphasize key elements
of the subject; there are effective transitions in argument
There is speech clarity, and effective use of non-verbal cues to guide the audience
through the talk
The speaker is able to connect with the audience through use of spontaneity, eye
contact, appropriate body movements and gestures, and appears confident and at ease
