EDITORIAL SQUAD 2019/2020

1. Composition of board
a. This is really up to you how you decide to fill it in
b. The mains are of course
i. President, Vice
ii. Secretary
iii. Treasurer
iv. Head of Journalism – Must have a team
v. Head of Media – Must have a team
c. How you handle the social media accounts are entirely up to you
2. Major events
a. Club and Registration Week
i. We always end up spending money on deco and then doing the same
the following semester. If you can secure reusable deco it would be
much easier.
ii. The thing is we are a club that don’t really need many members just
quality members who can hit the ground running. So focus on finding
talent and commitment.
b. Annual General Meeting
i. Needs
1. People who need to be there
a. Mr. Jee
b. Incumbent and current BOD
c. New members
d. Representatives of other clubs
e. Dan lain-lain
2. Games and Entertainment
3. Display past activities and plan for the coming year
4. Food (optional)
c. SRC nominations
i. Meet with STAD early on the semester and get the dates of the SRC
nominations and secure an understanding with them that ES will be
doing a coverage and require a space to do interviews.
ii. Ensure you have portrait pics of each candidate. And a group pic if
possible
iii. Prepare designed templates to put their pics in with the post they are
running for.
iv. The interview should be brief
1. For minor posts you may just need one liners as to why people
should vote for them
2. For the presidential candidates have deeper questions
3. Make things fun
v. Also have a video done
d. SRC Elections
i. The elections will happen over a few days but make sure we cover the
announcement of the winners. Interview them before and after the
announcement. Try and capture reactions.
e. Graduation
i. We must meet with STAD early on
ii. Need to decide first how many ES reps will be going and if you want to
cover both days or just one day
iii. Need to secure
1. Passes to enter the grad hall
2. Transportation
3. Accommodation if necessary
iv. Definitely do a video – interviewing newly graduated students and their
families can be fun
v. Have a vision of how you want the video to be before going into it.
vi. You could even do a video leading up to Graduation. Like have a few
seniors submit vids of them talking about graduation etc. Just an idea.
f. BPCA or any alternative event [Proposed workshop]
i. This is entirely up to you and your team.
g. Bonding programs
i. There is no need for big bonding events but just a little something to
ensure at least the members know each other well enough to work well
with each other.
h. Fund raising
i. Now this is a challenge.
ii. Separate proposals need to be done for fundraising events and a
considerable amount if running up and down is involved.

a. The website costs about RM76 a month to keep up
