Cebu City, officially the City of Cebu (Cebuano: Dakbayan sa Sugbu), is a 1st
class highly urbanized city of the island of Cebu in the Central
Visayas Region, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of
922,611 people, making it the fifth-most populated city in the nation and the most

It is the seat of government for the province of Cebu, but is governed separately from it.
The city is a significant center of commerce, trade and education in the Visayas. It is the
Philippines' main domestic shipping port, and is home to about 80% of the country's
domestic shipping companies.
Located in the middle of the eastern side of Cebu Island, it is the center of
a metropolitan area called Metro Cebuwhich also includes the cities
of Carcar, Danao, Lapu-Lapu, Mandaue, Naga and Talisay; and the municipalities
(towns) of Compostela, Consolacion, Cordova, Liloan, Minglanilla and San Fernando.
Metro Cebu had a total population of 2,849,213 as of 2015, making it the second-most
populous metropolitan area of the nation, after Metro Manila in Luzon.[4]
Cebu is the country's oldest city; it was the first Spanish settlement,[5] and the
first capital of the Philippines. It is considered the birthplace of Christianity in the Far
East. It is the "Second City" of the Philippines after Manila.[6][7][8][9]
Cebu is bounded on the north by the town of Balamban and the city of Danao, on the
west by the city of Toledo, on the east by the cities of Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue and the
towns of Liloan, Consolacion and Compostela, and on the south by the city of Talisay.

Amsterdam in Netherlands is one of the places most popular for their beautiful flower gardens.
Fascinating rows of colorful flowers line up in large and spacious fields. Variety of flowers like
hyacinths, daffodils, and the most famous tulips give an astonishing picture that is very attractive
to tourists especially to those who love nature.
In Cebu, Philippines, a so-called “Mini Amsterdam” is attracting tourists from all over the
country and even foreigners. It is the famous “Sirao Flower Farm” located in a mountain
barangay just few minutes from JY, Lahug, Cebu City.
10,000 roses of Cordova
The 10,000 roses cafe is located at the end of Cordova Tourism Center, just right next
to Lantaw Floating Restaurant. It is owned by Miguel Cho, an interior designer. He was
inspired by the famous Dongdaenum Design Plaza in South Korea. His intention in
putting up the cafe is to create a romantic ambience that would be perfect for couples, a
place precise for a beginning of a happily ever after.
Aside from the sumptuous food in the cafe, the main attraction of the place is the 10,000
artificial LED roses that are “planted” in the open area of the facility. These roses of
about 3 feet tall dance with the sea breeze in the day time and are transformed into
magical lights in the night as they are lit at around 6pm every night.
Carcar’s most well-known industry is the making of shoes and sandals. The industry
started in the 17th century when sandals were the first footwear made and then leather
shoes came later. The footwear industry reached its height in the 1960s.
Since then, many shoemakers have closed down because of problems like intense
competition from other shoemakers in Cebu and from foreign shoe imports. However,
through the resilience and determination of the remaining shoe-making businesses,
they continue to operate until now. You can buy shoes and sandals in stores
strategically located all over the town.

establishments of Cebu are in this street. At present, it is still the hotspot for businesses,
theaters, pubs, shopping malls, etcetera.
If you wish to buy your “pasalubong”or souvenir, it is in these street where you find

Simala Church
In Sibonga, southern town of Cebu, lies the prestigious Simala Church. Simala church
stretches its grandiose arm as if to welcome religious people all over the globe.
The design is inspired from European cathedrals. Not only is the place magnificent in
structure, but this also reveals a culture that is deeply seated among Cebuanos – the
essence of Roman Catholicism.
Monks who are devoted to the Virgin Mary reside in this church. Believers frequent the
huge statue of the Virgin Mary since many consider it miraculous. Also, the multitude of
Marys dressed in various cultural themes interests visitors.

Best Things to do in Vigan photo by Jaya via Flickr CC
Today, Vigan is a clear picture of how it used to be in the old days
when life was slow and not too many people have heard of the city
yet. The well-preserved cobblestone streets remain to be one of the
most visited attractions of Vigan but there is still so much more to see
when you visit.
Calle Crisologo
The name of this famous spot in Vigan comes from the family name of Mena
Crisologo; a politician, poet, writers, and playwright. The cobblestone street is well-
preserved and lined with touristy spots like hotels, bars, souvenir shops, and cafes.
There are no vehicles passing this street hence the perfect way to take photos of
sturdy Spanish architectures. The place is open 24 hours so there’s no need to rush
just to get there.
