SOUNDS: SOUND BOOTH CONSTRUCTION

I. PROBLEMS

1. How will you dampen the sound generated inside a sound

booth?
- We will dampen the sound by using different materials
that may reduce the sound.
2. How do different materials affect the ability of the sound
to travel?
- Since sound wave transfer energy between adjacent
molecules, the closer the molecules are the faster the
itsound travels.
II. Pre-laboratory questions
1. What is sound booth? What is it used for?
- Sound booth is a model that is used to investigate the
dampening ability of different materials.
2. How is a Sound Booth constructed? How does a sound
booth work?
- Sound booth is constructed by using different materials
such as cardboard to make a box, inside the box are the
different materials that are used to investigate how sound
is reflected, absorbed and travel.
3. What materials would be the best use when constructing
soundbooth?
- When constructing a sound booth, materials such as hard
and smooth objects would be best use in order to for the
sound to be reflected so the sound that may be heard is
louder.
