AJAI CHOWDHRY(CHAIRPERSON)
Ajai Chowdhry has more than 40 years of experience in the IT industry. He is the
Founder of HCL, a US 7 Billion Dollar Company. In 2011, he was awarded the
Padma Bhushan for building the IT industry of the nation. In January 2014, he was
honoured with the Cybermedia Business ICT Award 2013 for Lifetime Achievement
in ICT. He is an angel investor, entrepreneur and teaches entrepreneurship at IIT
Hyderabad and IIIT-Naya Raipur.
AROGYASWAMI PAULRAJ
Arogyaswami Paulraj is a Professor Emeritus at Stanford University and is a pioneer
of MIMO wireless communications. He has won over a dozen awards, notably
Padma Bhushan, the Marconi Prize and Fellowship 2014 and the VASVIK Medal.
Prof. Paulraj is advisor to the Govt. of India on the 5G policy. He has been included
in the National Innovator's Hall of Fame of USA for his innovations in the area of
MIMO Wireless Technology.
B. K. GAIROLA
B. K. Gairola has more than 35 years of experience in Govt. Departments and R&D
Labs. He was Mission Director (eGovernance), Department of Electronics &
Information Technology, Government of India. Earlier, he served as Director
General, National Informatics Centre (NIC), Government of India for six years. He
was conferred the SKOCH ICT for India – Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010 and
the Science and Technology Excellence Award 2010 by the Uttarakhand State
Council for Science and Technology.
SUJIT BAKSI
Sujit Baksi is an accomplished business leader with over 30 years of experience in
the IT industry. A stalwart in the areas of people management, operations
management and corporate strategy, Mr. Baksi is the President, Corporate Affairs and
Head-India Business at Tech Mahindra. His track record includes being President -
Global Operations, Customer Services and CEO, HCL Technologies (BPO Solutions
and Services).
STEVEN A. PINTO
Steven A. Pinto is a retired Lead Director on the Chairman's Supervisory Board of
the Emirates Investment Bank, UAE. He is currently serving on the Boards of ACGL,
a Tata Motors subsidiary, Easyaccess Finance, a wholly-owned subsidiary of
Redington India, Adlabs Entertainment Limited and CRIF High Mark. In the year
2000, he was appointed CEO of Osool Finance Company and concurrently Head of
Retail Banking at Mashreq Bank, Dubai.
SHAHLA NIGAR
Shahla Nigar is an Indian Administrative Service officer of 2001 batch and is
presently posted as Secretary, Public Health Engineering Department and Secretary,
Skill Development, Technical Education and Employment Department, Govt. of
Chhatisgarh. In her career, she has held many prestigious positions including Sub-
divisional Magistrate, Chief Executive Officer, Zila Panchayat and District
Magistrate.

SANJAY SHUKLA
Sanjay Shukla is 1987 batch Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer and is presently
holding the post of Secretary, Government of Chhattisgarh, Department of
Electronics & Information Technology. In addition to this, he is also Secretary,
Housing and Environment, Government of Chattisgarh. In his 30 years of career, he
has handled important portfolios like Commissioner, Chattisgarh Housing Board and
Commissioner, Urban Development.
VIVEK ACHARYA
Vivek Acharya is 2006 batch Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer and is presently
holding the post of Director, Directorate of Technical Education, Chhattisgarh. In the
past, he has handled important portfolios like SDO, Sukma District, DFO,
Dantewada District, DFO, Sarguja District and DFO, Dhamtari District.
AJIT KUMAR BHATNAGAR
Ajit Kumar Bhatnagar has over 35 years of experience in Infrastructure and Power
sector. Post a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, he pursued his M.Tech from
IIT-Delhi and MBA in Human Resource Management from IMT, Ghaziabad. He is
presently heading Power Management Institute (PMI), a world class, apex training
division of NTPC Ltd. in the capacity of Executive Director.
HARBANS SINGH
Harbans Singh is Regional Executive Director (Western Region-II), NTPC Limited;
and brings with him over 37 years of experience in Power sector. Positioned at
Raipur, as RED (WR-II), he oversees operations of NTPC in the states of Madhya
Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. His portfolio includes two Operating Power stations of
5,580 MW capacity and Construction management of three ongoing Green Field
Projects of 4,520 MW capacity.
SANJAY MADAN
Sanjay Madan, Group General Manager, currently heads NTPC’s prestigious Lara
Super Thermal Power Project. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical
Engineering and carries vast experience of 34 years in various capacities at
Vindhyachal, Dadri and in Southern Regional Headquarter of NTPC. His expertise
ranges from Erection, Field Quality, Technical Services, to Project Planning,
Execution and Monitoring. 
PRADEEP K. SINHA (MEMBER SECRETARY)
Pradeep K Sinha is a researcher, scientist, inventor, and internationally acclaimed
author of computer textbooks, with more than twenty-five years of professional
experience. He has significantly contributed to the advancement of Science &
Technology and Technical Education. His technical contributions include national
projects, HPC systems and facilities, healthcare products and solutions, international
patents, a number of technical papers and six books. Since 2015, he is deeply
involved in building IIIT-Naya Raipur as a premier academic institution of the
country.

Aquil Busrai has 45 plus years of industry experience in various HR roles. He
was Executive Director-HR at Motorola, Director-Human Resources at Shell
Malaysia, Managing Director of Shell People Services Asia Sdn Bhd, and
Executive Director-Human Resources at IBM India Ltd. He is currently CEO of
Aquil Busrai Consulting. A Gold Medallist from XLRI, Dr. Busrai is on the
National Council of CII, ASSOCHAM, SHRM, and on the board of several
education institutes and Corporate. He is a visiting faculty at Berkeley EMP,
UCLA PGPX, and IIMs in India. He is a fellow of All India Management
Association and Past National President of HRD Network.
RAVI VIJ (ENTREPRENEUR AND ANGEL INVESTOR)
Ravi Vij has 22 years of experience in Indian and Multinational Companies across
Automotive and Technology Sector. He is a Fulbright Nehru Research Fellowship
Scholar from Carnegie Mellon University. He has completed his Bachelor of
Mechanical Engineering from Nagpur University and Advanced Accelerated
Management Program from Harvard Business Publishing. Mr. Vij is currently

The curriculum has been designed in such a manner that it

semester, all the students of IIIT-NR undertake interdisciplinary

Along with the required coursework, all B. Tech. students have to
undertake at least one Product Design Project (PDP). This is
project work equivalent to 3 courses, spread over 1 to 3
semesters as chosen by the student and shall begin after the 4th

industry or R&D institution, in an in-house research lab, in an
incubator (on or off campus) among others.

 PLACEMENT PROCEDURE TRAINING & CAREER OFFICE
1. The Placement Office sends invitations to companies/organizations along with
relevant information.
2. The Company/ Organisation sends in a JAF (Job Announcement Form) containing
details of the job offer (pay package, place of posting, allowances and other
bonuses). JAFs can be sent either by post or email to Placement Cell
(placement@iiitnr.ac.in).
3. If the company/ organisation wish to conduct a Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) they can Dr. Amit Kr. Agrawal

8. Companies come down to the campus on the allotted date/s and conduct tests and/
or interviews according to their recruitment process.
9. The company/ organisation is required to furnish the final list of students preferably
on the date of interview.
