​ . Kitchen Safety

Make sure you give full attention during cooking, never leave
cooking unattended. Ensure your kitchen areas to be always
clean and uncluttered. Don't cook when you are tired or sleepy.

​ . Space For Heaters

Place all heater appliances at least 3 feet or 1 meter awy from
anything that can burn.

3. Ashtrays
Use large and deep ashtray. Wet the ashtray before use. Never
smoke when you are in bed.
4. Matches and Lighters
Make sure to store matcher and lighters up high in a locked
cabinet, away from children.

5. Electricity
Replace damaged electrical cords. Always concern on the
appliance used and repair the appliances that smell, smoke and
overheat.

Keep candles away from anything that can burn. Use shades to
cover candles from blowing and burn down.

​ . Smoke Detector

Each house must at least install one smoke detector. Priority
should be given to kitchen areas. It is also highly suggested to
be installed in each bedrooms.

​ . Routine Testing of Smoke Detector.

Check and test your smoke detector. Replace its batteries once
a year or when an alarm "chirps" shown that the batteries are
week. Replace the smoke detector after 10 years. If possible,
get the portable one.

Draw a home fire escape plan so that everyone in your
household knows what to do during fire.

10. Crawl Under Smoke


the correct way to escape under smoke is to crawl on your
hands and knees and keep your head 30-60cm above the floor.
