NARRATIVE REPORT
EARTHQUAKE DRILL

The National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill held last August 22, 2019 at exactly 2 ó
clock in all public school both elementary and secondary to achieve the universal
preparedness of the schools.

To ensure the safety of pupils and teachers during and damaging earthquake,
Mahayag Elementary School with the supervision of the principal Carmen T. Samson,
conducted an Earthquake Drill and orientation of Tsunami as well as Storm Surge. Also the
awareness and preparedness before, during and after the calamities/disaster occurred.

We made a list of the total number of pupils occupying each room, then we find open
areas that can be used as temporary refuge, clean up things that blocks the exits and see to
it that the gate of school were unlocked during school hours. The drill started with a
ceremonial tapping of the bell where all students with the aid of their respective advisers
slowly walked outside of their classrooms doing the three important things needed when an
earthquake strikes. Teachers teach them not to be panic, keep calm. Before the said drill
started the school principal together with the teachers gives them several informations
concerning disasters.

The drill lasted for five minutes having no untoward incident happen as the drill
goes.
