Website Creation Process

In order to create a website there are multiple options and resources available to you.

Personally I prefer to use the website creation platform Weebly.com. This site gives you

different website layouts to choose from. Once you choose one you can go in from there and

make it your own. The website creator makes it very easy to change the format of each page of

your website by adding and taking away things that are on the general layout of the page.

The first thing to do when creating a website is choose a layout that fits your purpose.

There wasn’t an education option, so I chose the general format and from there picked one that I

liked and that would work with what I had envisioned for my site. From this point you need to go

in and take out any items that do not fit your purpose. For me, there was a few random text boxes

and images that I felt added clutter so I took them out. I also took out a whole page that I didn’t

need. To do this you click on the page and to the left there will be a “Delete” option.

After ridding the pages of clutter I go in and hit the “Create” button in order to add in

items that I need that weren’t already there for me. This would include text boxes, images, links,

etc. There is also the option to add space bars and dividers to organize each page. Once this is

done, I want back and changed the theme to match my needs. The site gives you general images

as placeholders. You will need to click on them and choose the edit option. This will allow you

to upload your own photo, use one form online, or choose from the gallery of generic options the

site provides. I used some from the site as well as downloaded some from my personal gallery.

Once you have changed your images and titles you should go in and insert your own

content to the website and finally make it your won. From here can you click “Publish” and will

be given a website URL. You can go back and edit your website at any time. For me this will be

in the form of updating my blog that I put as one page on my website.
