Dear Kindergartners and Grownups,

Welcome to Ms. Braun’s kindergarten class! I can’t wait to see you

all for our first day of school on ​Tuesday, September 3​. I have a lot
planned for you this year! We’ll be reading a lot of great books
together and independently. We’ll also be having a lot of fun
learning and getting to know each other.

Some things about me:

- This will be my eighth year teaching kindergarten at
Mendota.
- I got my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from
UW-Madison with a minor in Spanish. I received my
master’s degree from UW in 2016, and my doctorate from
UW in 2019.
- My favorite children’s book is ​Please Baby Please​ by Spike Lee and Tonya Lewis Lee, illustrated
by Kadir Nelson.
- My hobbies are baking, practicing yoga, and spending time with family.My husband’s name is
Scott and our daughter is Clara. She was born in June. We also have a cat named Lupita.

Now onto the first day of school.

Our class will be in Room 6. We are the third room on the left side of the hallway, inside the main doors
of the school.

All of the school supplies on your supply list.
