N Chandrasekaran
Natarajan Chandrasekaran (53) is Chairman of the board of Tata Sons, the holding company and promoter of
more than 100 Tata operating companies with aggregate annual revenues of more than US $100 billion. He
joined the board of Tata Sons in October 2016 and was appointed Chairman in January 2017. Chandra also chairs
the boards of several group operating companies, including Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tata Power, Indian Hotels
and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) — of which he was chief executive from 2009-17.
The Tata group companies include 29 publicly-listed corporations with a combined market capitalisation that
exceeded US $120 billion at the start of 2017. His appointment as chairman followed a 30-year business career at
TCS, which he joined from university. Chandra rose through the ranks at TCS to become CEO and managing
director of the leading global IT solutions and consulting firm.

 June 20, 2019: TCS has been recognized for Excellence in Digital Transformation in the 2019 Pega Partner Awards.
The award recognizes TCS for developing and delivering digital process automation (DPA) solutions for clients
within the financial services industry. Solutions include digital technologies such as AI and automation to
transform business processes and reimagine the customer experience.
 May 23, 2019: TCS received four Stevies® at the 2019 American Business Awards®, the nation’s premier business
awards program. TCS was recognized with Gold Stevies for Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the
Year and Fastest Growing Tech Company of the Year, a Silver Stevie for Mobile Marketing Campaign of the Year,
and a Bronze Stevie for Human Resources Department of the Year.
 October 16, 2018: TCS won 11 Stevies® at the 2018 Great Employers Awards. TCS was recognized with five Gold
Stevies, two Silver Stevies, and four Bronze Stevies for achievements in India, United States, and Canada.
 July 16, 2018 – TCS announced today that TCS BaNCS’ innovation hub ‘Alpha Bank’ received the award for The
Best Innovation Centre by a Non-Financial Services Institution at The Asian Banker Financial Technology
Innovation Awards 2018. The awards ceremony was held in Beijing, China, in conjunction with the prestigious
‘Future of Finance Summit 2018’, the foremost annual meeting for decision-makers in the financial services
industry in the Asia Pacific region.
 July 5, 2018: TCS has been named as the ‘Nearshore Company of the Year’ in the third edition of the Nexus
Illuminate Awards, which celebrate excellence in services.
 JUNE 19, 2018: TCS has been recognized with the ‘Social Responsibility Award’ for the third year in a row at
