Handlers with 2 trained K9 capable
dogs which cater the entire province
whenever the need arises.
 To cope up with the arising
need to have a sufficient number of K9
units, Adopt - a - Dog Program has
come into view to bolster the number
of trained K9s by adopting dogs from
private and civilian partners for
training in bomb sniffing (Explosive
Detector Dog).
Bukidnon PPO has an existing
composition of 3 trained handlers and
2 trained K9 dogs. The composition is
headed by PSI JULIUS CARLO B
BELMES with SPO3 Ernie Cabrera
and PO1 Dialong as members.
The team is currently using the
services of two K9 dogs, a German
Shepherd Dog and a Labrador
retriever. They are deployed
successfully to strategic checkpoints
in the province. They were purposely
deployed twice to secure the visit of
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in the
province and other VIPs. And have
been part in BUKPPO’s continuous
effort in safeguarding the important
programs and events in the province
like Kaamulan festival, Fiesta and
other major celebrations.
It is well noted that this Adopt
A Dog practice of Bukidnon PPO has
provided this office and the entire
police force an overwhelming positive
results in terms of our police service,
the maintenance of peace and order,
and a bomb-free province. This
 practice has not only abled us to
efficiently secure our province but also
provided our constituents the feeling
of security seeing these trained K9
handlers and these dogs working very
hard in securing the area.
Since the adoption of this best
practice, this unit has maintained a
peaceful and a bomb-free province.
