Noisy neighbours

.
Alright, so we all like to crank up the music and have a party in the
house now and again. But how loud is too loud?

1. Have you ever had to ask neighbours to be quiet? Or have you

been asked to keep it down?
2. Do you think it’s acceptable to play loud music late at night?
Monday
Should people be allowed to have fun even if it disturbs others?
3. How well do you get on with your neighbours? Do you feel a
sense of community in your area?

Long distance lovin’.

Technology has made it much easier to stay in touch across long

distances, but does that make far-away romance easier too?

1. Have you ever been involved in a long-distance relationship? If

Tuesday no, do you think you could?
2. Do you think there is a maximum distance or amount of time a
couple can be apart and have a functioning relationship?
3. And do you think technology like video calls and the internet
make such relationships more viable?

Weight till you read this…

It has been in the news that by 2030, 80% of men and 55% of
women in Spain will be overweight, so what’s the explanation?

1. The Mediterranean diet is always cited as one of the more

healthy, so why the increase in overweight people?
2. Do you think the way Spanish people eat is changing? Do
Wednesday people still eat as many traditional Spanish dishes and cook at
home?
3. Does this news worry you? Is people’s weight something to be
bothered about or is it not that big a deal?

Of another time…

A time capsule is a box which people bury underground with the

idea that future civilisations will open them and learn about the
past. They usually contain important documents and items from
the time of burial.

1. If you could make a personal time capsule to let people in the

future learn about your life, what would it contain? Which items
Thursday
define your life?
2. What about if the global population were to do the same?
Could you define humanity in a few documents? What about
our most important scientific discoveries or cultural
achievements?
3. How do you think future societies will look back on this time? As
the start of a bright new technological age? Or….something less
positive?

Sticks and stones…

Some social media networks have banned some pages which

many consider extreme in the content they publish, but is that
good for everyone or a worrying infringement on free speech?

1. So what do you think? If someone says something hateful or

offensive, should they be taken off social media?
Friday
2. Freedom of speech is seen as a basic democratic right, but is
there a limit? Where should the line be drawn?
3. Do social networks have a responsibility to censor offensive
content? Or should they just let people say what they want?
