Megan Lantz reported to me in the Penn State Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering from January
2019 - May 2019. She was a communications intern who tackled many of our department’s communications
needs.
As an intern, Megan contributed to our communications efforts by researching and writing feature stories about
students and alumni, writing press releases, assisting in social media campaigns and posts, taking photographs at
events, and other duties as assigned.
I enjoyed working with Megan. She was eager to learn new areas of communications and did an excellent job of
expanding our efforts. I was most impressed with her writing skills, initiative, and ability to meet deadlines.
Beyond her communications skills, she left a mark with her open, thoughtful personality. She is well-spoken and
intellectual, and she lights up when talking about ideas and communications trends. Her positive attitude and
professional demeanor are impressive for someone with her experience level.
I found that she is one of the more focused interns I have had. She was dedicated and enthusiastic to learn. She
was also readily willing to listen to feedback and asked for additional feedback. I also found her to be successful
at applying feedback to future assignments.
I recommend Megan for any position that will draw upon her skills and her proven record of contribution to
communications. She was a remarkable employee and contributor.
