To Whom It May Concern:

It is with great enthusiasm that I write this reference letter for Ms. Megan Borich. Megan had been one
of my teacher candidates at Howell Elementary, Tucson Unified School District during the Spring
semester 2018. In October 2018, she began teaching in Thailand in an ESL Kindergartner classroom.

As a Teacher Candidate, Megan displayed her ability to be an effective classroom teacher. She
implemented current classroom management practices properly, while developing her own style to
establish personal relationships with students in a positive manner. Ms. Borich also adapted lessons to
include all types of learners and their varied abilities. She considered students’ personal talents as well
as any limitations when planning lessons. She used current teaching methodology and theories to
enhance her lessons. Lastly, Megan utilized community building skills that she had learned from her
involvement with the Arizona Ambassadors, College of Education Ambassador, Student Worker at
Disability Resource Center, and her communication skills implemented in her part-time employment at
BJ’s Restaurant. During the Spring Semester of 2018, Ms. Borich was selected by the Dean to represent
the University of Arizona, on a recruitment trip to New York in April 2018.

In addition to Ms. Borich’s excellence in the areas of classroom management and lesson planning, she
had a great depth of knowledge in various content areas. This included moderate proficiency in
Spanish (reading, writing, speaking, and auditory). As she collaborated with her mentor teacher, Mrs.
Laura Oberg, she sought guidance in areas she was less familiar. Megan was never afraid to learn new
information and she modeled that same love of learning to her students. Megan practiced current
assessment methods to identify the needs of students. This allowed her to create lessons to help
students achieve grade level standards. She also had the natural ability to create lessons that
motivated students. She demonstrated the skill of looking at a given objective then task analyzing that
objective into doable, teachable, parts to assist students’ learning, which in turn lead to student
success.

If one were to pick out Megan in a large crowd, one might pick her because of her contagious smile and
composed presence. She is devoted to the education of children as well as investing time to strengthen
her own skills. Her kind and caring demeanor as well as her strong work ethic will be an asset for any
school. Your district will be quite fortunate to have Megan as a faculty member . If you have any questions,
please feel free to contact me.
