Deliverable 1 - The Left Behind

An architect and Computational designer to be, with prior experience working at an architecture
firm for several years. Problem-solving and teamwork are two strengths of his, he is capable of
managing issues that might occur unexpectedly within the work environment.

Transportation across campus:

Transportation within the campus is a common issue, right now the only option is the bus
system which is not reliable. They are not on time or the time between each bus arrives is a
relatively long time, therefore when you are in a hurry and trying to get somewhere fast you
cannot count on them. In addition, there is a bike-sharing system that might be helpful however
Signing up for them is not a fast process and the pricing is not reasonable, From my
observations, no one uses them because of the above-mentioned issues.

Food:

Another common issue from my point of view is food options, On-campus dining options are
un healthy expensive food which is not nutritious at all, also if you are looking for the options
out of campus they are not accessible by public transport or on the bike.
And on top of that these limited dining options get narrowed down to only one or two options
after a certain hour. Therefore students who couldn't get food during lunch hour either have to
choose between that few options which are not the best or travel to further distances to get food
which makes it harder for people who don't have a car.

Event and Activities advertisement:

There are various clubs and organization on campus which are organizing different events and
activities throughout the year. Events fall into different categories such as educational
professional networking or leisure and sporting events. Students can benefit greatly from these
events but the issue is the way they are advertised and promoted are not effective.
Usually, they are promoted through email which most of the time gets buried under the tons of
emails received in the inboxes or the time of events don't fit the schedule of the students.

Unified app:
School offers several apps for tracking the class schedule, accessing canvas, etc,... in addition
to that there are some services which they are getting done traditional way such as using sports
facilities or checking out equipment from the library. I find it helpful if a unified system existed
which combined identification and web services that school offers into one app.
Since everyone has a smartphone all the time it makes all the process which are done manually
now faster and easier.

Botanical Garden navigation ane exploration:

One of the most interesting locations on campus is a botanical garden which makes it a great
spot for relaxing or studying. There are various types of plants and furniture that they have a
history that might be interesting for a person that explores the area. Even though there are
some signs around but they are not easy to find or the information on them is not interesting to
the general public. A more intuitive way of communicating info would make exploring the
botanical garden a more interesting experience.
