Division of Antique
I. Antique is one of the Provinces in Western Visayas located in the
Western Part of Panay Island. Antique is known as the “Rising Star of
Western Visayas” composed of 18 towns namely Anini-y, Tobias Fornier,
Hamtic, San Jose de Buenavista, San Remegio, Sibalom, Belison,
Patnongon, Valderrama, Bugasong, Laua-an, Barbaza, Tibiao, Culasi,
Sebaste, Pandan, Libertad and Caluya Group of Islands. From this
municipalities hails 54 Secondary Schools and 480 Elementary Schools
of the 22 Districts namely the Districts of Anini-y, Tobias Fornier, Hamtic
North and South, San Jose de Buenavista, San Remegio 1 & 2, Sibalom,
Belison, Patnongon, Valderrama, Bugasong, Laua-an, Barbaza, Tibiao,
Culasi, Sebaste, Pandan, Libertad and Caluya Group of Islands
headed by the Public Schools District Supervisors and Principal-In-
Charge of the Districts.
ANTIQUE
II. The Schools Division Office of Antique is composed of The Curriculum
Implementation Division (CID), School Governance and Operations
Division (SGOD), Budget and Personnel. All the concerns for the
Subject Areas are tackled by the Curriculum Division while all the
Projects and Programs of the Department is under the School
Governance and Operations Division headed by the Chief Education
Supervisor and composed of the Senior Education Program Specialists
and Education Program Specialists II (SEPS & EPSII) of the different
sections, The Human Resource Development (HRD), Monitoring &
Evaluation ( M&E), Social Mobilization (Soc.Mob), Planning and
Research, Youth Development, School Facilities and Medical.
III. My task in my area as a specialist is to prepare data and schedule for
the trainings, seminars, and workshops for the enhancement of
teachers for them to be equipped with new styles, concepts and
strategies for their lessons in the classrooms in order for their learners to
be globally prepared for their future and also to provide Technical
Assistance in order to make their work/task light. We in our section are
the ones preparing for their Mass Training of Teachers for the K to 12
Program, School Governance and Operations, Division Monthly
Meeting, Division Coordination Meeting, Preparing the Newly Hired
Teachers Induction Program and the exit of the soon to retire Teachers.
BEST PRACTICES:
1. School Visitation
Visiting Schools in every district especially the schools in the upland
or remote areas of the Division of Antique to get/check/ confirm
data received in the office to make sure that all the projects and
programs of the Department is implemented.
2. “ Tinanim Mo, Kinabukasan Ko”
Urging all DepEd Learners, Employees & Personnel to plant a tree
every quarter regardless if it’s a fruit tree or mainly a plain tree which
will be monitored by the School Heads to make sure that after the
school year four (4) kinds of trees were planted.
