AGRIPRENEUR: DAan TUngo sa KAbuhayan at KAunlaran (DATUKAKA) PROGRAM

PROPONENT: Integrated Dinagatnon Entrepreneurs Association (IDEA), Inc.

RATIONALE:
The Province of Dinagat Islands has full of potentials. It can be natural resources or human
force. Considering its vast land full of mineral ores that some mining companies have already
been benefiting from it, the island is also surrounded with waters that can be utilized for
aquaculture and fishing.

Besides some scattered isolated communities in the islands, in the early 60s people who
came from many places around the country have flocked together and formed new communities
anywhere around the Province. They have joined together with the belief that sometime in the
future, the islands comprising the Province of Dinagat Islands will evolve to be a paradise that
people from the rest of the world will look up to.

In the continuing increase of population of the Province, the need to create a program
that will provide one of the basic needs of humankind, which is food for everyone, should be
launched to be able to produce food for consumption and distribution to neighboring provinces
and even other regions in Visayas and Mindanao.

The reason for the launching of the AGRIPRENEUR: (DATUKAKA) PROGRAM is to address
the increasing demand of food production for Southern Philippines so that our local constituents
will have enough supply of fresh and nutritious yet affordable raw and processed foods readily
available in the local markets.
