I. Introduction

Observing human cheek cells under a microscope is a simple way to quickly view and learn
about the human cell structure. Many educational facilities use the procedure as an experiment for
students to explore the principles of microscopy and the identification of cells and viewing check cells is
one of the most common school experiments used to teach students how to operate light microscope.

II. Objectives:

1. To prepare a wet amount of human check cell.

2. To observe a human cheek cell using compound light microscope
3. To label the parts of a human cheek cell.

III. Illustration:

IV. Question:

1. What parts of the cell are observable under the light microscope?

When I looked really closely, I could see the cell membrane, cytoplasm, and nucleus of the cheek cells.
The dot in the middle is the nucleus, the whole shape of the dot is the cytoplasm, and the outer part or
the border of the shapes is the cell membrane. I couldn’t identify the other part anymore.

V. Generalization:

Cells can be found everywhere in our body. Our body is made up of countless cells. Although our body is
made up of cells, cells cannot be seen with the naked eye. They are extremely minute and can only be
seen with the help of a microscope. Each of the countless cells in our bodies have parts. They have a
cytoplasm, nucleus, cell membrane, mitochondria, golgi bodies, and etc. These parts make the cell and
gives it function.
