5 Compatibility
Component Description
• Software upgrade can be applied to any previous RADWIN 2000 release.
• Software upgrade from release 2.1 to radios RW-2450-0150
RW and RW-2450
2450-0250 with operational
band other than WPC India, will change the product type (seen at the inventory window) to RW-
2050-0150
0150 and RW-2050-0250,
RW 0250, respectively. The frequency band will remain as it was prior to the
upgrade.
Software Upgrade
• Bands that are not enabled in release 2.6
2. and were not operational before software upgrade will
remain blocked after the software upgrade. That is, if a band that was enabled in release 2.1 in
radios RW-2050-0150,
0150, RW-2050-0250,
RW RW-2450-0150 and RW-2450--0250, and was disabled in
these radios in following
llowing releases, it will remain enabled after software upgrade only if it was the
operational band during the software upgrade.
• RADWIN Manager Release 9.2.50 (build 9134) is compatible with RADWIN 2000 releases 2.1 –
2.6 and with WinLink 10001 releases 1.600 - 1.9.50.
0. WinLink 1000 Manager can be installed in
RADWIN Manager parallel to the RADWIN Manager to support previous WinLink 1000 releases.
• When connecting RADWIN Manager older releases (prior to 9.2.50)) to an ODU with release 2.6, 2.
there is an indication
ion "newer release is available” with limited management functionality.
ODU • RADWIN 2000 ODU release 2.6 2. build b2830 supports ODU hardware releases 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1.
• RADWIN 2000 C radios release 2.6 with Hardware version 6 can work with IDU-Cs RW-7200-
2000 or with PoE devices RW-9921-0101
RW with GBE functionality.
• DO NOT CONNECT OTHER RADWIN Families to PoE devices RW-9921-0101(this RW will
damage the connected ODU)
IDU and PoE device • When connecting a RADWIN 2000 radio to any other IDU, an incompatibility alarm is issued and
a link is not established.
• Connecting a RADWIN 2000 radio to any other PoE device (e.g. AT006284X) will yield
indeterminate results.
• RADWIN 2000 PDH Series radios operate only with IDU-C IDU and IDU-E E and not with PoE devices.
device
• Due to regulation update ,software
,so upgrade is require, 5.4 FCC product will be upgrade , link
5.4 FCC which operated at 5.600-5.650GHz – will be dropped and reestablish after the upgrade using other
channel due new FCC guideline

6 Limitations
Issue Description
1. Bridge addresses In some scenarios the bridge learns less than 1024 addresses.
Tx power limitation in
Due to compliance limitations, Tx power is limited in the lowest and highest channels in the 5.4
2. 5.4 GHz ETSI lowest
GHz ETSI band (for radios RW-2250-0150
RW and RW-2250-0250)
and highest channels
MIR Limitation value Minimum MIR is 256 Kbps

7 Known Issues
Issue Description
B-Series
Series : Disabling IDU detection feature will cause link 1. Enable the IDU detection. Link will sync after the reset
1.
down status after site is up from reset 2. Do not use IDU detection feature
Telnet : changing immediate Name, Location or contact Reset site for changes to take affect
2.
will take affect only after reset
Web Base Management: Relogin site
3. In rare cases "Monitor" button doesn't work in "Change
Band" page
Web Base :ODU Ethernet Ports shown an empty Ignore
4. configuration dialog when GBE ODU connected to IDU-MC

Web Base : Antenna Connection type change is not applied Change via NMS
5.
in the ODU from Web Interface.
TDM BER in 40 MHz channel BW In RADWIN 2000 C-Series,
Series, TDM BER may occur during
6. extreme Ethernet burst traffic
conditions
TDM BER or Sync Loss TDM BER or Sync Loss may occur for a few seconds during
7.
various configuration changes.
Software upgrade indication Software upgrade indication may refer to the wrong site
8. of a link.
Upgrade both sites to the latest release.
Wrong count of RFC-1213 Multicast and Broadcast packets are counted as Unicast in
9. RADWIN 2000 L- and PDH Series,
not according to RFC-1213.
Setting IP address timeout When setting the ODU IP address the operation may
timeout. The ODU IP address is changed
10. even in the event of timeout.
Ignore the timeout and connect to the ODU with the new
IP address.
DFS false radardetection In rare instances, false radar detection occurs under
interference in DFS bands FCC 5.3 and 5.4
GHz and ETSI 5.3, 5.4 and 5.8 GHz.
11.
The DFS algorithm will select the best channel. If
interference is high or in many channels,
select another band.
Ethernet capacity Ethernet capacity at max air rate (270 Mbps, 40 MHz
channel), with TDM services enabled, is
12.
lower than displayed.

Issue Description
Display issues Various issues affect the display however do not affect
functionality.
Most workarounds are in the nature of “refresh the
display”, e.g. close and reopen the Manager,
13. go back and next in wizards, or ignore the shown values.
9.
Redundant traps under
Ring application
In rare cases under a ring application, when resetting an R
Redundant traps under In rare cases under a ring application, when resetting an a
Ring application RPL link, multiple traps of "RPL state
14.
changed to Active" are displayed in the RADWIN
Manager, instead of a singe trap
Excessive traffic rate Under excessive traffic of small packet size of 64 bytes to -
in Ring application 100 bytes, RPL may switch from
idle to active mode
15.
In order to avoid this scenario, the user should set the
"Minimum time for failure detection"
parameter to a value greater than 200 ms.
QoS Best Effort queue By disabling the QoS feature, the MIR of the "Best Effort"
16. queue remains as was configured
when the QoS was enabled.
IP address It is not possible to configure the IP address on a site
configuration under a scenario when Link ID is not
17.
defined.
In this case the user should define first a Link ID
Compatibility event The label 'SWU recommended' is missing under a scenario
when one site of the link is running
with version 2.5.0 while the other site is running with
18. older software.
This issue is not service effective. Its is recommended to
upgrade both sites of the link to 2.5
software version
Service indication In rare cases, after link is up Service indication is 'Services
none' although Ethernet service is
19. up and running
In order to resolve the display problem reset both sites of
the link is required
