English Lesson Plan for Grade 4

I. Objective
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
A. note details in a selection listened to;
B. realize that the world is made up of people of different races and
colors;
C. take down important notes from the text read.

II. Subject Matter


Topic: Black, White, Brown by Nemah Hermosa
Materials: Pictures, Videos, andVisual Aids
References: www.youtube.com

III. Procedure
A. Daily Routine
1. Greetings
2. Checking of Attendance
3. Review of the past lesson

B. Motivation
Show pictures of people with different skin and ask the students
the following questions:
1. What can you say about the different pictures?
2. How are they different from each other?
After asking the questions, play a video that shows the close
relationship between black and white people.After playing the
video, ask the students on their reaction about the video.

C. Lesson Proper
Read the story to the class and let the students listen and take
down notes from the story.

D. Enrichment Activity
Divide the class into two groups, the first group will do the
reenactment of the story, they will dramatize the story by showing how
Kabunian created the people with different skin colors. The second group
will think and sing a song that they know about the world or the people in
the world.

IV. Generalization
Give the students strips of paper with words written on it, the
words written on it have something to do with racism and criticism,
for example the words gay, dark skin, black people, and so on. Let
students share their thinking and reaction when they see one.

V. Evaluation
Read a short text to the class and let the students take down
notes, after taking down notes, let the students answer that questions that
follow.

Practice reading the following words:
