REACTION PAPER ( MY OJT EXPERIENCE )

My role as an On-The-Job Trainee at DCTV Cable and Network Services

The DCTV Cable Network Services Albay is a company that I never expected that i will be working in as
a trainee. At first, I expected that I will be an OJT of a Local Government Unit because of
recommendations but all changed when I interviewed the employees in DCTV Albay. Me and my Thesis
partner, Irwin Lumbao first went to DCTV on May to conduct interviews for our Thesis and it became a
target for us because we discovered that they don't have an existing Personnel Information and Payroll
System. Interviews were easy because employees were nice and generous.

On our First day on the OJT, we were interviewed by our supervisor about our studies and our life. On
our first week, we were shy and we don't even speak with other employees that we don't know. After
some days. We were introduced to all the personnel. By that, we were given the courage to speak with
needed employees to gain data on our proposed system.

We were not given any hard work or hard tasks. Some of our tasks involve encoding, printing, making
advertisements and delivering papers to some employees. There is a time when the company had an
event that we even that to dance with employees because it is a requirement.

During OJT, there are some hours that we don't do things so we just look on the work of employees and
study on how they do their work. For example, how they configure the channels of TV, how they block
channels and how they expand internet bandwidth for each subscriber.

Our work on DCTV is almost the best experience because it is really connected to our course. And
another thing that made us happy is because our work involved a Television. There is a TV in front of us
and it is never boring in DCTV. Personnel will always cheer us up and we are treated equally.

We have gained a good working experience in DCTV because we have learned how to have a good
relation with employees and how to work with them harmoniously. We hope that we can apply what we
have learned in this company to our future work. We thank the company for letting us have our
research and have us as an OJT on their company, Our professors for approving our proposed thesis and
helping us in our title and for their patience on us students, my partner Irwin Lumbao who does most of
the work and never giving up, and God for making this all a success, thank you.
