Class 7. Grade
Title States of Matter
Subject Mixtures

Students
1) Gives examples by classifying mixtures as homogeneous and
heterogeneous.
2) Examples of solids in solid, liquid and gaseous media are
Student given.
achievements 3) Estimates some methods that can be used to separate
mixtures and tests their estimates.
4) Classify mixtures that are encountered in everyday life
according to different qualities.
Related to mixtures

The atmosphere, which is a gas mixture, recognizes the vital

importance it carries for the living things, and saves the

consciousness from the atmosphere pollutants.
Related to Nature of
Science

1. It recognizes that there are multiple elements or

compounds in the mixture. 2. Classify solutions as

concentrated and diluted 3. Demonstrate how to dilute and /
Skills or concentrate the solutions.

1. Listens by giving himself. 2. He / she is interested and

curious about himself and his surroundings 3. Acts with

When you go to a herbalist there are many herbal products

that are good for many diseases. Most of the time, when we
get ill at home, our mothers bring a lot of plants together for
Engage treatment. For example, when our mothers get sick, they drink
mint lemon. How are your mothers doing this mint lemon? Do
you have the taste of mint and lemon separately when you
drink? "He asks this question and says that the mixture is the
subject of the day.

In order to observe that the substances brought together are

differentiated by different methods, the activity number 1 is
Explore
carried out by students in the classroom.

Mixture is formed by combining many elements or compounds

without losing their chemical properties. The substances
forming the mixture do not lose their properties. Salt and salt
taste is perceived in salt water.
There is no specific ratio between the amounts of the
constituents of the mixture. They can be mixed as desired. The
melting and boiling points of the mixtures are not constant.
Mixtures have no specific chemical formulas.
Mixtures are formed by physical means and their components
are separated by physical means.

Mixtures are two varieties according to their appearance.

Explain
If the substances forming the mixture are not evenly
Teaching- distributed throughout the mixture, it is called heterogeneous
Learning mixture. They are blends that do not show the same features
all over.
Activities Mixtures, such as a single substance, which have the same
properties on all sides, are called homogeneous mixtures.
Homogeneous mixtures are also commonly referred to as
solutions. Salt water, air, cologne, 24 carat gold are some
examples to homogeneous mixtures.
We can separate the mixtures by sieving, filtration, flotation,
recrystallization, magnetisation, evaporation and distillation
methods

In order to deepen the gains they have achieved. Activity 2

Teaching & Learning Activities

Activity 1
Activity Name: Mixtures in hand

Tools used: 4 cups, balls,

magnets, sawdust, lentils, salt,
sand

1) Class is divided into 4 groups.

2) Materials are distributed to
children.
3) They are required to mix
materials.
4) They are then asked to
separate the materials from each
other in the mixture.
5) Students record the order of
their separation method.
6) it is desirable to read the data
in the hand of each group spoken
word.

Activitiy 2
Activitiy Name: Know if you can

Equipment used: colored cardboard

Fabrication:
1) Pre-prepared paper is folded and
placed in a box.
2) it is desirable that each student draw
a paper from the box and tell the
separation method of the mixture he
reads.
3) This process applies to each such
student.
Activitiy 3 Hidden Mixtures?
Ece was preparing herself to go to the school in
the morning and her mother said she would
not send her to the school without breakfast.
Ece saw a great breakfast at the entrance of
the kitchen when there was a lot of food on the
table like orange juice, tea, cheese, bread,
eggs. Ece had her breakfast and went to the
school. She was so tired and hungry in school
that even in the classroom she was dreaming
about her mother's dinner. The menu on the
mind was vegetable soup, salad and pepper
stuff. When the lesson finished, Ece directly
went to home. As she came home, the chicken
smelled from the kitchen and she looked at her
mother made chicken soup and beside this a
green salad was being prepared. Ece was very
hungry and sat at the table and ate all the food
on the plate. She drank a glass of water on top
of it. While she was on the sofa, she thought
about the examples that her teacher gave
todays lecture and looked at the table.
