Semi Detailed Lesson Plan in Acids and Bases

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

 Describe the different properties of Acids and Bases


 Differentiate Acids from Bases
 Give examples of Acids and Base
 Recognize the importance of acid and base on our daily life.

B. MOTIVATION
“The Food I Ate”
The teacher will ask the students to give at least one food that they ate
in the morning and the students and tell what the taste of the food is.
C. ACTIVITY

“Look and Think”

The teacher will show a picture that contains different substances and
foods. The students will describe the tastes of the substances/ food. Let them
describe the difference of those substances, and then the teacher asks why
the substances taste sour or bitter.

D. ANALYSIS
1. What are the properties of acids and bases?
2. Explain the differences of acids and bases
3. Give examples of a food or substance and that is considered acid
or base.

E. ABSTRACTION
Acids and bases are among the most common and important
compounds known. Acids have sour taste, the litmus dye turn to red, react
with metals and it feels watery. A base is a substance whose water solution
turn litmus paper turns to blue, has a bitter taste, and has slippery and soapy
feelings.

F. APPLICATION
Write A if it describe on Acid and B if it describe Base.
