Additional Exercise – Week 1 Unit 7: Marketing Success


and Follow-Ups

EXERCISE 1:

Business scenario:
In your role as marketing expert you want to add responses to campaign and track the success of follow-ups.

Exercise goals:
In this exercise, you will learn how to create responses from campaigns and how to hand-over leads to sales

Prerequisites
No prerequisites needed

Task 1: Open an already executed campaign and create follow-ups


1. Log into SAP Business ByDesign system using the below mentioned credentials for Kathy
Jagger
a. User ID: marketing02s
b. Password: Welcome1
2. Click on Show/ hide work center navigation icon .
3. Open the marketing work center
4. Click on “Campaigns”
5. Search and open the letter mail campaign “Summer Offering 2012” / ID 11

6. See the campaign overview and click on “View all”

7. Click on the tab “Response Details”


8. Go to the response list and group it by type

9. See the results in the table and click on the “Open Analytical View” button on the right top
corner of the table
10. See the visualization below the table
11. Switch to the “Execution Details” tab
12. Select an account and click on the button “Add response / lead”

13. See that in the new lead all account data but also the campaign reference is prepopulated

14. Enter a description beginning with your ID

15. Set the qualification status to hot


16. Change the name of the employee responsible – sales to “Kathy Jagger” to make your user also
the receiver for the lead (in real life this would be someone else)

17. Click on the button “Hand-over”

Task 2: Receive Handed-over Lead as sales employee and send it back for revision (for simplicity reason we
will do this with the same user, in real life this will be another one)

1. Stay logged in using the below mentioned credentials for Kathy Jagger

a. User ID: marketing02s
b. Password: Welcome1
2. Click on Show/ hide work center navigation icon .
3. Open the “New Business” work center open the view “Leads”
4. See the newly received leads and open your lead

5. In the lead click on “Edit”

6. Click on “Send for Revision” in to send it back to the marketing employee e.g. for
improvement
7. Go back to the Marketing work center and open the leads view
8. See your lead which has been send back for revision

9. Open it and send it back to sales with a friendly reminder that there are no more details to be
added.

Task 3: Create follow-ups from other work centers (e.g. sales orders)

1. Log into SAP Business ByDesign system using the below mentioned credentials for Kathy
Jagger
a. User ID: marketing02s
b. Password: Welcome1
2. Click on Show/ hide work center navigation icon .
3. Click on the sales order work center menu item and click under common

tasks on “New Sales Order”


4. In the new sales order account name type in “Sil” in order to search and select the customer
“Silverstar Wholesales Corp”

5. Go to the field “Description” and enter your ID and a name “34567 my order” to identify your
order later on
6. Scroll to the field “Campaign” and select the campaign “Summer Offering 2012”

7. Scroll to the items table and click on the value help for “Product” to select product “30001 -
Supervisor Engineer”

8. Save the order, note the ID of it and close the newly created sales order
9. Open the marketing work center
10. Click on “Campaigns”

18. Search and open the letter campaign “Summer Offering 2012” / ID 11

19. See the campaign overview and click on “View all”


11. Click on the tab “Response Details”
12. Go to the response list and search your order

Task 4: Track the marketing campaign generated revenue with a KPI and report

1. Log into SAP Business ByDesign system using the below mentioned credentials for Kathy
Jagger
a. User ID: marketing02s
b. Password: Welcome1
2. Click on Show/ hide work center navigation icon .

3. Click on “My Launchpad” in the Home work center


4. See the „Marketing generated revenue KPI” and click on it

5. Click on the KPI and see the target, warning and alert thresholds

6. See the details of the chart and switch it to the table mode by clicking on the table icon
7. Click in the table on the row with campaign „Event Invitation / ID 51“

8. Click on the little triangle right to the name of the campaign and click on “View Campaign”

9. See the details of the campaign
