Exercises Week 2 Unit 2: Statement of Work

EXERCISE 1:

Business scenario:
In your role as project manager you want to check the terms, how your project was offered to the customer.
You also want to check the terms, how your project was finally sold to the customer, i.e. the customer-facing
obligations.

Exercise goals:
In this exercise, you will:
- Learn how to navigate to sales order information from within a project
- Learn how to navigate to sales quote information from within a project

Task 1: Check sales orders linked to your project


1. Log on to SAP Business ByDesign using the below mentioned credentials for Peter Sellers
a. User ID: projects01s
b. Password: Welcome1

2. Click the Show/Hide work center navigation icon.

3. Click and then Projects

4. Select Project CPSO6 and then press and Project Plan


5. Go to Tab Sales Tracking and select Sub-Tab Sales Order Assignment
6. You see that multiple sales orders can be linked to one project. In this case two sales orders are
assigned to project CPSO6:
a. Sales Order 3232, which was the initial order
b. Sales Order 3434, which is a follow-up order
7. For each sales order you can see the items linked to the project. You can see that, among
others, the order items contain the following information:
a. Ordered services, materials or expenses e.g. senior consultancy
b. Ordered quantity
c. Ordered net value
d. Invoicing method (Fixed price or Time and Material)

Task 2: Check sales quotes linked to your project


1. Go to Tab Sales Tracking and select Sub-Tab Sales Quote Assignment
2. You see that multiple sales quotes can be linked to one project. In this case two sales quotes are
assigned to project CPSO6:
a. Sales Quote 401, which was rejected
b. Sales Quote 404, which was accepted and which is the predecessor document for sales
order 3232
3. For each sales quote you can see the items linked to the project. You can see that, among
others, the quote items contain the following information:
a. Quoted services, materials or expenses e.g. senior consultancy
b. Quoted quantity
c. Quoted net value
d. Invoicing method (Fixed price or Time and Material).

Task 3: Monitor document flow


1. Go to Tab Sales Tracking and select Sub-Tab Document Flow
2. Analyze the document flow for project CPSO6. You see that the process starts with an
Opportunity, followed by two sales quotes and one sales order, which is linked to the project.
You can also see that the document flow continues and that there are already two project
invoices in the system.
