ABM BOOKKEEPING CHALLENGE GUIDELINES

1ST ABM BOOKKEEPING CHALLENGE

 The participants are limited to Grade 12 students only and must have completed or are
currently taking the following subjects:
a. Fundamentals of Accountancy, Business and
Management 1
b. Fundamentals of Accountancy, Business and
Management 2

 Participants must form a group comprising of five members each.

 The contestants must arrive in the venue at least 15 minutes before 2:00 P.M. for the
registration and other necessary preparations such as assigning the participants to their
respective areas. Each group will be given a grace period of 15 mins and must be
complete at 2:15 P.M. Once a group lacks one (1) member at 2:15 P.M., their points will
be automatically deducted.

 The contestants will be given an Accounting problem and they are required to journalize
the problem, post it in the ledger, and write the necessary information on the worksheet.
Each group shall be given three (3) journal sheet, three (3) short bond paper and four (4)
scratch papers to work on the problem. Each member must bring a pen and a calculator.
Gadgets, aside from the calculator, are not allowed during the challenge. Once a member
is caught using such, the group he is a part of will be out from the competition.

 In answering:

 The contestants should write their answers clearly and legibly on the provided journal
sheets and worksheets.

 Abbreviations are prohibited.

 Each member shall stay in his respective group and must not roam around while the
challenge is going on. If he/she wishes to go the restroom, do so with permission from
a JPIA officer.

 The participants are given three hours to complete the challenge.

 The team who gets the first three highest points shall be declared winners as 1st, 2nd and
3rd placers respectively.

 All winners shall be announced and will be awarded during the Awarding Ceremony at
Ayala Center Cebu. Winners will be kept updated about the time, date, and other
necessary information.
