“Megay’s Purified Drinking Water”

Mrs. Cresenciana Avergonzado Arcana, a former General Education Teacher, is

the owner of the famous water refilling station in San Isidro, Talibon, Bohol. She started
her business last October 2017 with the help of her husband, Mr. Carlito Arcana. Out of
boredom and curiosity of how is it like to have a business, she decided to start her own.

The business was financed through the savings she has from her salary on her
former job as a teacher and the savings of her husband, who works as the head of the
Engineering Department in a company in Saudi Arabia.

From starting the business, she had purchase machines which are usually installed
for the processes of producing the product, her supplier of the equipment is Cebu HIQ
Manufacturing Corporation this machines are costing P250,000 to P750,000. The
following machines are multi-media sediment filter, activated carbon filter, reverse
osmosis membrane, ultraviolet lamp and ozone generator, such machines are estimated
to have fifteen (15) years of useful life.

To ensure the quality and taste of the water and to provide clean and potable water
product- purified drinking water, Mrs. Arcana’s best advantage against her competitors is
that she performs monthly Bacteriological Laboratory Test which is conducted at Talisay
Water Lab, Cebu City. The bacteriologist will personally go to the refilling station to get
the water sample and brings it to their center to perform the examination. When the result
has come out, they will also personally send it back to the refilling station. The machines
used in the preservation of the water are highly maintained. Every month, hired
technicians comes to the station and inspect the machines and also the gallons used.
She makes sure that everything is in line with her advocacy because for the betterment
of the community is what she aims for Talibon.

With that, the numbers of customers and the demand for the delivery of the purified
water provided by Megay’s Purified Drinking Water has increased and the sales had
greatly increased. To mention some of her major customers are the restaurants in the
Talibon, including medium sized food eatery, schools, stores and even neighbor Islands
near the place.
