Familiarization of Basic network command and Network

configuration commands

Aim: Study of basic network configuration and topologies.

Apparatus (Software): Packet Tracer or GNS3.

Theory: Cisco Packet Tracer is a network simulation program that allows students
to experiment with network behavior and ask “what if” questions. As an integral
part of the Networking Academy comprehensive learning experience, Packet
Tracer provides simulation, visualization, authoring, assessment, and collaboration
capabilities and facilitates the teaching and learning of complex technology
concepts.

Procedure

 Place and connect all the routers, switches and end devices according to the
topology shown above.
 Now configure the Fast Ethernet port of the routers and change its state to UP.
 Configure the Serial ports of the routers and change their state to UP.
 Now configure the IP route of all the routers.
 Now ping the end device of different networks.
Conclusion: Gain the knowledge about the basic network configuration and
topology.
