COMMENTARY ABOUT THE TOS:

A Table of Specification (TOS) is a 2-dimensional table that is very helpful to represents the
relation between the instructional objectives to the content covered in class, with a purpose to identify
the achievement objectives at each level of cognitive domain of Bloom’s taxonomy. It is a tool teacher can
use to measure the learning of their students. The tables given are examples of TOS used and modified by
science teachers in elementary level of education.
The TOS 1 is designed for the 2nd periodic test of grade 3 Science pupils. table contains a list of the
performance competencies that is being measured based on the three domains of knowledge
(cognitive/knowledge, Affective/Understanding and psychomotor/process). It also includes the number
of items for the specific for the competency and its placement in the test, as well as its weigh to the totality
of the test. On the other plank, the TOS 2 is designed for the 1st periodical test of grade 6 Science pupils.
this table presents a list of key concepts covered by the class for the given period and the duration it took
for the lesson to be taught. it also shows the number of items for the specific concept and its placement
to the test, and its weigh to the entire the only.
