Hydraulic filter
During normal operation of the implement and/or of steering circuits, return oil from the control valves flows to
return port (4). Oil to return port (4) flows through filter (3) and into the tank.
Cooling oil through the pump and through the motor cases flows to a filter (not shown) that is installed over return
port (2). Oil through the filter flows into return port (2) to the tank.
If the filter elements of the filters are clogged with debris, the restriction to the oil flow causes a pressure increase
inside the filters. This pressure increase causes a bypass valve in each filter to move so that oil can flow directly into
the tank. When the oil does not flow through the filter elements, the debris in the oil can cause damage to the
components in the hydraulic system.
