1. SCOPE
This specification covers minimum requirements for the design, material, fabrication, testing and
inspection of flexible hose and related components that apply to LNG Receiving Terminal and
Regasification Plant of Teluk Lamong.
This specification applies to ship-to-ship transfer cryogenic hose assemblies up to 10 inches nominal
bore, for liquefied natural gas base fluid. The minimum operating requirements for the hose are
pressure in the range of 0 to 10.5 kg/cm2g in temperature range of -195oC to 65oC. This specification
does not apply to hoses used for domestic hot and cold water services, utility air, nor to in-line pipework
elements specifically designed for taking up thermal expansion.

2. REFERENCES
The latest revision of applicable sections of the codes, standards, and specifications listed below
(including addenda, and documents incorporated by reference) shall be considered an integral part of
this specification. Where two or more references define requirements for the same subject, the more
restrictive requirements shall govern.

3. DESIGN CRITERIA
3.1 Description of Service
Flexible hose shall be provided wherever a temporary connection to transfer process commodity is
required or where high flexibility is required to accommodate motion, alignment, space, or ease of
routing.
3.2 Design Condition
(1) The design flexible hose shall be of composite hose type, with construction material to be
suitable for cryogenic service, as designed in process and mechanical condition, presented in
data sheet. The design of flexible hose shall conforms suitably to the required length
expansion/contraction due to thermal effect.

(2) Flexible hose shall be able to conform to the minimum bend radius as specified in data sheet
without being subjected to overstress, damage, or appreciably shortening of its life.

(3) Flexible hose construction shall be consisted of inner wire metal helix, plies of thermoplastic
films and reinforcing fabrics, abrasion and ozone resistant fabric cover, and external wire metal
helix with construction materials that are suitable for cryogenic service.

(4) The flexible hose shall have its designed minimum burst safety factor of 5 to 1 of design
pressure without reducing its flexibility characteristics specified in data sheet.

(5) Both ends of flexible hose shall be provided with weld neck flanges with appropriate size and
rating as specified in data sheet. Prior to connecting flexible hose to ship manifold, the
connecting flange shall be installed with appropriate manners for insulating flange and gasket
applications.

(6) Flexible hose elongation shall not exceed 10% at its designed pressure.

(7) Flexible hose shall be designed to withstand specified maximum flowrate. The delta pressure of
the flexible hose also shall not exceed the specified maximum delta pressure.

(8) The flexible hoses’ service life shall be sufficiently long to avoid continual replacement of worn
hose.

4. INSPECTION AND TESTING

(1) Shop inspection and testing shall be carried out in conformance with the requirements of
applicable standards. The procedures shall be submitted to COMPANY for review and approval
prior to testing.

(2) As minimum, all fitted hose assemblies should be pressure tested with following criteria:
- For composite hose assemblies with 1 to 4 inches size, it should be tested to a minimum of
the rated working pressure of the end fittings, but must not exceed one and a half time the
rated working pressure of the hose for a minimum of 5 minutes.
- For hoses with 4 to 10 inches nominal bore, the hose should be tested to a minimum of the
rated test pressure of the end fittings but must not exceed one and a half times the rated
working pressure of the hose for a minimum period of 30 minutes.

(3) Unless otherwise stated by COMPANY, the test medium should be water.

(4) A test certificate may be issued to provide written confirmation that the assembly has been
tested and conforms to certain performance criteria. Test certificates should include the
following information as minimum:
- Test certificate number
- Costumer name and purchase order number
- Suppliers nameand job number
- Hose serial number
- Hose details including length, type of hose and diameter
- End fitting details with types of ferrules and seals used
- Test date

- Test pressure
- Electrical continuity conformance
- Suppliers authorization signature.

5. PREPARATION FOR SHIPMENT, STORAGE, AND CLEANING

(1) Hose and hose assemblies may be transported in coiled form on pallets, in crates, or loose
within containers. Care should be taken to prevent impact damage.
(2) After service, hose assemblies should be flushed out and drained with compressed air or
nitrogen. Ideally, store hoses should be dry and kept off the ground in a straight line out of direct
sunlight.
(3) Due to inherent nature of the hose internals, any form of mechanical method of cleaning such
as pigging is prohibited under any circumstances.
