Lina: She didn’t give me anything but she cooked my favorite food. My
father harvested fruits in the farm. Everybody enjoyed eating the fruits.
Rica: That’s wonderful! I am happy for you. Belated Happy Birthday!
Lina: Thank upu, Rica!
Rica: You’re welcome.

There are times when there are changes in the spelling of the word. The
following rules will help you.
A. Regular verbs of one syllable that end in a consonant with a vowel
before it, form their past tense by doubling the consonant before
adding –ed.
B. Regular verbs that end in e, form their past tense by adding –d
C. Regular verbs that end in y with a consonant before it, form their
past tense by changing y to i then adding –ed.
