Objectives:
At the end of the lesson the students should be able to:
a. Identify the use of modals.
b. relate the use of modals to a real life conversation.
c. demonstrate the use of modals through differentiated activities.
II. VALUES INTEGRATION At the end of the lesson, students’ value for Leadership will be developed for
they will have to work together with their group mates and contribute to the
success of their presentation. Students’ respect will also be developed for they
will share ideas on how they will creatively present their presentations.
Students’ value for achievement will also be observed after they give it their all
for the presentation of their assigned tasks.
III. MISSION DEPLOYMENT This lesson develops skills of writing and correct usage of grammar of the
students towards the practice of professions to be fluent in teaching students in
the future. This lesson also gives more knowledge and enhances their
communication through speaking English using correct grammar.

2. Explore The students will be group into four (4). The teacher will post of a young man
and students will be given three minutes to answer the questions through
writing and essay.
3. Explain Modals
Modals are verbs that behave irregularly in English. They never change forms
and you cannot add s, ed, or ing to them. They Provide additional information
about the function of the main verb that follows it. Modals have the following
characteristics.
4. Elaborate With the same group, the students will perform an activity. Each group will
perform different task. Each group will be given 5-7minutes preparation and 3-
5minutes presentation.
Group 1- writing essay using modals in a sentence
Group 2- create a script of drama using modals in every line.
Group 3- perform the drama script created by the group 2
Group 4- search for a song that has modals in lyrics and perform it.
5. Evaluation Write on the blank the appropriate modal to complete the sentence.
