POPPLET – GRAPHIC ORGANIZER EXERCISE

INSTRUCTIONS
Design a Popplet for your group’s assigned character. You may work as a group for each
of the answers, or split the work up in sections. Remember all members of the group are
responsible for revising and completing the whole assignment. Please, remember to use
correct spelling and grammar. You can organize it in whichever order you want, however
the Popplet should be broken down into the following sections:

Black – The center of the Popplet, and it should have the character’s name.

Red – Choose three other characters who are important to your character and briefly
explain what is the relation to your character and how they are important to them.

Blue – Choose at least two important quotes related to the character. The quotes should
be cited appropriately with the correct page number.

Pink – Describe at least two pivotal moments for your character and how it affected their
role in the novel or how it changed them as a character.

Green – At least two descriptions, one must be a characteristic and one must be a physical
description, with a brief explanation of why this important to the book or how it sets the
character apart from everyone else. You may use quotes for this section as well.

Orange – Choose a literary device (theme, symbol, motif, etc.) that it important to your
character. Explain how it relates to or how it affects your character.

Images – Include at least three relevant images, you may include them in any of the
sections. They can be of the character, a symbol, or something that relates to the character
etc.

Please reference the rubric and example Popplet for more guidance of how to complete
the assignment and get full credit. You may use your text and your notes to complete the
assignment. Remember to work together, and feel free to be creative!
