4.1 Objective

What is waste minimising? Waste minimising is a process to reduce the producing waste by

reusing and recycling (Minimising Waste Overview, 2011). Sometimes, waste minimising

plan need to spend our time and energy to make it a success it. Some people may argue that

waste minimising is a terrible work and meaningless as they don’t know the purpose of the

waste minimising. Therefore, what is the purpose of waste minimising? The purposes of

conducting a waste minimising plan are moderate the pollution of the surroundings,

decrease the unwanted use of resources and maintain ecosystem.

g) Mini disc can also use to do photo frame with steps have shown above by

cutting a 40mm x 40mm perfect square around the central.

4.3.2 Plywood

Method: The waste minimising plan of plywood is reused to make book stand. To make a

bookstand, plywood, fishing line, saw and hot glue are required.

1. First, tie the two plywood which have 250mm (length), 3mm (width), 80mm (height)

together by using the fishing line.

2. Cut the plywood base which has 160 mm (length) x 102 mm (width) x 3 mm (height) into

160 mm (length) x 85 mm (width) x 3 mm (height). Then measure 40 mm from the side

of the plywood and mark a line.

4.3.3 Mousetrap

Method: Mousetrap will be detached from the body and reuse as its original function.

4.3.4 Hot Glue (thermoplastic hot melt)

Method: Scrap off from the mousetrap racing car and melt it again using hot glue gun and

will be used to construct the bookstand in section 4.3.2.

4.3.5 Nylon Fishing Line

Method: The fishing line will untie from the skewers and axle. Then the fishing line will be

used to construct the bookstand in section 4.3.2.

4.3.6 White Rubber Band

Method: Rubber bands will be reused as its original usage.

4.3.7 Skewer

Method: Skewer will be detach from the snapper arm and deposed.

4.3.8 Washer

Method: Washer will be detach from the axle and kept for the usage of future student of

EFPC 100.
