 The story of the Ibong Adarna
In the kingdom of Berbania,there was a king named Fernando and Queen
Valeriana. They had three sons,Don Pedro,Don Diego and Don Juan.
One night,king Fernando had a bad dream that Don Juan will be thrown into a well
And ever since he woke up from that dream, he started getting sick,and every day
it became bad to worse.The kingdom's best doctor came and checked king
Fernando.Queen Valeriana and her three sons were very worried of king Fernando.
After the check up, the doctor came up with bad news,he said that the only cure
for his sickness was a specific song,sang by the Ibong Adarna.So the king tasked his
three sons to find the bird at Mount Tabor.Don Pedro went first because he was
the eldest, he was met by an old man who asked for food from his carriage.Don
Pedro was low on recourses so he said "No" and left the old man in the dust.Once
Don Pedro reached the summit of Mount Tabor,he heard the bird singing a magical
lullaby so that once he fell asleep,he would turn into stone.The bird decided to
turn him to stone because of his greediness of his recourses.After a week of Don
Pedro's journey,Don Diego went next,he met the same old man Don Pedro
encountered and he asked for the same thing to test him if he is worth being
helped on capturing the bird.He had the same rotten attitude of his brother so he
was turned to stone on Mount Tabor 2
Then two weeks later after the brothers disappearance,Don Juan went next,he was
met by the same man with the same question,but even though he's not the
sharpest crayon on the box,he was kind so he decided to help this old man.He
gave him some tips on capturing the bird,because of Don Juan's kindness,he was
successful on capturing the bird,he also took his brothers so that he could make
the bird turn them into human again.Because of jealousy and envy,the two brothers
ganged up on Don Juan and threw him down a creepy looking well.When they
came back the Kings illness became worse because the bird ever sang a single song.
Luckily the old man was there so he healed Don Juan and pulled him out of the
well,Don Juan walked back to Berbania.The king knew the truth because the
moment Don Juan came back,the bird started to sing again.The king wanted to
punish the two brothers but Don Juan requested him to please forgive
them.Then when Don Pedro got the bird it started to fly away because of
him.Don Juan left the kingdom so that the king wouldn't punish his brother.King
Fernando asked the two princess to look for him.They found him at the
kingdom of Armenia.They decided to live there.One day,they found an
interesting well,they all tried to go in but only Don Juan went in successfully.He
found two beautiful princesses,Donya Juana and Donya Leonara who were held
hostage by an evil serpent.Since Don Juan has fighting skills,he killed the serpent
and brought the two princesses out,because of jealousy,Don Diego cut the rope
while Don Juan was climbing when Donya Leonara forgot something so he was
injured from both the fight and the fall.Meanwhile,Don Diego had no trouble
making Donya Juana fall in love in him so when they came back to the kingdom
of Berbania,they got married however,Don Pedro tried everything but couldn't
make Donya Leonara fall in love with him.Then an enchanted fox was able to
heal Don Juan,then the Ibong Adarna suddenly came to him and said that he was
destined to go to ReynoDelos Cristales and Don Juan immediately searched for
her and found out about king Salermo.The king didn't like his presence in his
kingdom so he gave him a number of obstacles in order to stay.With the help of 4
Maria Blanca the daughter of King Salermo.
 Because of the selfish king,the two tried to escape but failed.Maria Blanca was
cursed to forget about Don Juan and their love.When Don Juan went back to the
kingdom of Berbania,he was greeted by queen Valeriana and princess Leonara,he
forgot about Maria Blanca because of princess Leonara.DonJuan and Princess
Leonara was about to celebrate their wedding but then,Maria Blanca came and
reminded Don Juan about their love.Finally Don Juan was married to Maria Blanca
and princess Leonara married Don Pedro.Don Juan became king of Reyno Delos
Cristales,while Don Pedro became king of Berbania.
