Customer Need Identification:

Electricity is going to be expensive with each passing day and people are getting interested in
using solar energy to meet their electricity needs and also savings. Solar PV panels provide a
very good alternative. For a consumer a grid-connected home solar system is both a cost-saving
feature as well as a revenue earning system in compared to off-grid home solar system.
Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India is also promoting solar
PV systems under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission in the country.

In India Solar power plant is a fast developing industry, the solar installed capacity reached
30.109 GW as 31st August 2019. Also India has the lowest capital cost per MW globally to
install the solar power plans. By 2023, the solar capacity could go up to 70 GW.

Solar energy is the future of energy industry. Government and private industries all over the
world are focusing towards renewable and pollution free sources of energy. There are continuous
research and innovations going on to improve the efficiency and also reduce the cost of energy
generation, manufacturing of solar panels. Monitoring and distribution of power from solar
plants is also a main concern. The main challenges of the whole system are: automatic solar
sunlight tracking, real time monitoring and distribution of solar power to the end user, physical
fault detection and load sharing in case of fault in grid.

Many organizations are working on it to utilize best technologies to overcome the above
problems. But most of the existing technologies are quite expensive to use and bulky.

We proposed and innovative idea which can overcome all the above mentioned problems with
low cost technology. Our innovation is IoT based solar plant power generation and tracking
monitoring of solar power strings to enhance the performance and maintenance. Automatic sun
light tracking, energy and power measurement through sensors is a part of this proposed system.
In case of any fault detected between the grids, the load sharing between grid and inverter to
balance the power. The idea also allows the analysis of solar string power output, power
management and weather analysis.

Serviceable Addressable Market (SAM) Identification & Justification: Every house hold
needs the electricity with both a cost-saving feature as well as a revenue earning system. Our
proposed system meets all the features.
A grid-connected system which does not use batteries, it only uses an inverter. A grid-connected
system is governed by a statutory policy involving ‘net metering’ wherein the system records the
excess electric power generated over and above the usage by the home that is fed to the grid. In
this system, the home user need not worry too much about calculating the size of the power plant
as any excess power generated earns revenue and any shortfall is made up by grid supply.
Because of this feature most of the households becoming the consumer of solar electricity. Again
the grid based solar system is popular where the less electricity cut.
Our idea is unique and different from other technologies. This provides a low cost, high
performance, and less in size, which is the main concern of any technology to be popular in the
market and meet the customer needs.

The installation cost of grid based system is less and also no need of battery, this is why the grid
based solar system is popular. Hence the initial cost of the system is less. Since the excess
electric power generated over and above the usage by the home that is fed to the grid, means no
need to worry about the consumption and record. In the long term, it is a cost-saving feature as
well as a revenue earning system. So it becomes more popular.

Product Differentiation w.r.t. Competition & Justification: the existing features of solar
power plans are: Automatic monitoring, tracking of power measurement, solar tracking systems,
and also using the remote accessibility features.

Our proposed system includes all the above features, along with additional features, which are:

1. Automatic solar tracking system as a whole.

2. Tracking and monitoring system for power measurement and fault detection.
3. Load sharing between the grids and inverter in case of failure.
4. IoT enabled system, easily compatible to all.

Understanding of your customer & user: Customer always use the products which are
compatible with respect to their all demands, like low installation cost, low maintenance cost,
less complicacy and finally revenue generation. Our proposed idea can provide all the services,
which customer needs.

Distribution Channel Identification: Implementation starts from our local area. We implement
the model at our local area first. And later on the model will be promoted through media like,
website related to solar industry and renewable energy industry, share in whats-up groups where
renewable energy sources are active participated. For better implementation, Industry
symposium and exhibitions are the best approach.

Benefits: If the proposed system is implemented, in short term, the consumer gets benefited at
the early stage of installation. Because installation cost is less in grid system. Also no need of
battery required which reduce the installation cost. Hence our proposed idea is acceptable.

Medium Term: As during the consumption of the grid system, since the excess electric power
generated over and above the usage by the home that is fed to the grid, means no need to worry
about the consumption and record. Hence monthly cost per use is low. Our proposed idea gives
the better option at a low cost.

Long Term: In long term, it is a cost-saving as well as a revenue earning system. The overall
solar plant industry will be profitable.
